To search for Sai, Hikaru and the others came to Innoshima. Along the way, Mr. Kawai excitedly said, "Since we're here, let's play a few games with the players around here." So they visited a local go salon. Here, Mr. Kawai was crushingly defeated by Shūhei. To avenge Mr. Kawai, Hikaru challenged Shūhei. More importantly, Hikaru obtained information about Shūsaku's grave from a regular at this go club. The specific location of this go club also appears in the manga; it is inside the arcade of "Onomichi Kaiga no Machi Dōri" and can be found not far in. Many Hikaru no Go fans come to Innoshima and Onomichi to trace Sai's footsteps, but few actually step into this go club. With nervous feelings, we carefully climbed the narrow staircase and pushed open the door. Although Shūhei was not there, the club was full of friendly local players. After we explained our purpose, they very kindly agreed to let us take photos. Both the signboard outside and the interior furnishings were exactly as depicted in the manga (May 2008). However, according to a friend who visited in September 2010, although the building housing the go club has not changed, the club has moved to another room, and the interior layout has changed somewhat.
