4.1 Adachi Ward Workers' Welfare Hall4.1足立区勤労福祉会館Published in: Episode 73 ‘Perfect Coincidence’ Pages: JC Hikaru no Go vol.9 P.87, 88. The venue of the ‘6th Fureai Go Festival’ where Shindo Hikaru played a four-player game; both its interior and exterior appear in the manga, such as the scene where a metropolitan assembly member's secretary says goodbye to the organizers after the event. Because the building was under renovation, a large blue barrier was set up in front of the main entrance, which was a pity. I confirmed the event was held in the first hall on the second floor, but the hall was being used for another event at the time, so I could not take photos. While photographing the interior of the entrance, I greeted a male staff member and got permission. Through talking with him, I learned that the Adachi Ward Labor Welfare Hall hosts a Go event every April organized by the Chikiseki Society. Looking into it, I found the event is large, supported by Adachi Ward and the Japan Go Association's Adachi branch, has continued for nearly 40 years, and even Umezawa (Yoshihara) Yukari, supervisor of Hikaru no Go, had participated. From this, I infer the model for the ‘Fureai Go Festival’ is the Chikiseki Society's Go event. Also, the background of the scene where Shindo Hikaru and Itsuki Koichi talk in the hall does not seem to be this place. That scene has a distinctive high atrium ceiling, and I suspect a corresponding model building exists, but I have not yet found it.
