In the special episode "Part 3: Akemi Nase" of Hikaru no Go, Nase, upon learning that Akemi also plays go, excitedly says to her boyfriend, "Let's go see! I want to watch Akemi play go!" So they head to a go club called "Igo Salon Dōraku." The manga depicts the entrance of this building. In reality, a go club called "Igo Salon Kiraku" does exist on the 7th floor of this building. I have never been inside, so I cannot confirm whether there are really the intimidating-looking uncles depicted in the manga. Perhaps the real atmosphere is not as rough as in the manga. That is probably why the manga changed the shop name to "Dōraku." Furthermore, the manga also changed the building's name from "Tōshin Biru" to "Tōshin・Biru." Some signs of other shops in the building have also changed, and some look newer, so they were likely replaced. However, long-established shops like "PEARL BAR" and "Chinese Restaurant Shinkagetsu" seem to have remained all along. In the manga, though, these shops were also changed into establishments with a stronger "adult entertainment" style.
