Until 2008, only the first launch pad was in operation, but use of the second launch pad began in September 2009. In the show, the rocket launches from the first launch pad. In the photo, the two steel towers slightly right of center mark the first launch pad. The two towers near the center mark the second launch pad. The steel-frame building at center left is the medium rocket assembly building. The square building at far left is the large rocket assembly building.
