    In volume 1 of the novel, a place Gokumon Nadeshiko passes on her way to the Yasaki-jima family's residence. The residence is described as "the end of Uji" and "right under the nose of Byodo-in." In chapter 2 of volume 3, Nadeshiko fights Oodakemaru, Shuten-Douji, and the nine-tailed fox at Byodo-in in the film.
