Futamiiwa & Futami Port East Breakwater Lighthouse

二見岩&二見港東防波堤灯台
2026-02-13

"On the way to look for the speedboat, we saw a breakwater sandwiched between two seas, shaped like the Japanese character く. On the rock at the sharp tip, which protrudes like a knot, trees grow. That is Futamiiwa. When the expedition team of the late Edo period discovered this place, they named the rock after the famous Futami Rocks (also called Meoto Iwa) in Ise Bay. The name Futamiko Port also comes from this. At the tip of the breakwater stands a red lighthouse shaped like a mailbox."
