2025-04-13Location: Sumiyoshi Shrine. The shrine where the shrine maidens, the Koigane sisters, and the goddess Elda reside. The komainu are dragons (Sumiyoshi Shrine also has a Ryujin shrine). Although the shrine was founded in 1646, the chief priest and residents of Tsukuda village in Settsu (Osaka) moved from Osaka to Edo in 1590, so it can be said to have over 400 years of history (by the way, Takamimi Shrine was founded in 1590 on Tsukudajima). The deities enshrined here are the Sumiyoshi Sanjin, Okinagatarashihime-no-mikoto, and Tosho Miya-mi-oya (Gongen-sama, Tokugawa Ieyasu), five in total. As the author has said that Takamimi Shrine was not modeled on any specific shrine, there are no similarities in the haiden (viewed from the side, from the south, the roof looks somewhat similar). More precisely, judging from the surrounding buildings and office backgrounds visible from the grounds in the original comic, it is Tsukuda 1-chome. Within that area, it seems to be a parallel-world setting where Takamimi Shrine exists in a corner bounded by a river, a waterway, and Route 473.
