Stopped at a traffic light along the way. Waiting ahead are students from a different girls' school than mine. The difference in atmosphere is so strong I want to call them “ladies.” They commute to school as a group and head home as a group. Skirt rule violations are unthinkable, teachers lead them at the front and back, and in winter everyone wears black tights. Even the seasonal clothing change is uniform, like leaves turning color. Now that group is crowding in front of the gas station at the intersection. ——『Canary of the Sea』
