Saga International Balloon Fiesta佐賀インターナショナルバルーンフェスタEP 412:132026-05-06The Saga International Balloon Fiesta is the largest hot air balloon event in Asia, held in early November. The five-day event includes three 'competitions', a grand fireworks display on the last day, and a light show featuring hot air balloons. At the event site, the main launch field, the balloon launch competitions usually begin at 7 a.m. but are adjusted appropriately depending on the weather. Various activities take place throughout the day until they end at 5 p.m. In the evening, the burners of the balloons are lit, illuminating the balloons with flames, accompanied by music from a live band, making the whole venue even more spectacular. During the festival, a temporary station called Balloon Saga Station is set up near the venue to make it convenient for visitors to travel by train.
