Otowa-cho Estimated Coordinates

音羽町推定座標

According to the original 'Otowa', which is located in Japan, faces the sea, has a strong European architectural style, and needed reconstruction after being severely damaged by an earthquake, most of its features match the historical characteristics of the Kobe area, so it is assumed that 'Otowa' is in the Kobe region. Kobe is at 34°70' N, 135°18' E. According to Hi-Mura, the new 'Otowa' is in Australia with almost no time difference from the original, so the latitude is reversed to 34°70' S. The resulting coordinates fall in the sea off Coffin Bay in South Australia. The nearest settlement matching the administrative level of a Japanese 'town' is Port Lincoln. Port Lincoln's official time difference from Kobe is +30 min, which matches the time setting. Port Lincoln also has a railway line that terminates there, now closed with its station abandoned, which matches the fact that Otowa Station exists but has been abandoned. According to the Port Lincoln Planning Strategy, it expects to accommodate 3,780 new residents and build 1,470 new homes within the next 30 years, which roughly matches the capacity for building a new town.
